Crystalline rose that will bring joy and elegance to your outdoor space

Posted on November 21, 2023

The Crystalline rose is a hybrid tea rose with large, pure white blooms and a light, spicy, and sweet fragrance. It was introduced in 2008 by Kordes and is known for its outstanding exhibition quality.

Here are some additional details about Crystalline roses:

  • Bloom size: 5-5.5 inches in diameter
  • Color: Pure white
  • Fragrance: Light, spicy, and sweet
  • Height: 4-5 feet
  • Width: 3-4 feet
  • Hardiness zone: 6-9
  • Bloom time: Late spring to early fall
  • Disease resistance: Good resistance to black spot and powdery mildew

Crystalline roses are best grown in full sun to partial shade, and they prefer well-drained, fertile soil with a slightly acidic pH of 6.0 to 6.5. They should be watered regularly, especially during hot, dry periods. They should be fertilized every few weeks with a balanced rose fertilizer. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead, diseased, or damaged canes, and maintain a desired shape.

Mulch around the base of the rose to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and protect the roots during winter. In colder climates, protect the rose from harsh winter temperatures by mounding mulch around the base after the first frost. Monitor for common rose pests and diseases and use organic or least-toxic control methods whenever possible.

With proper care and attention, you can cultivate a thriving Crystalline rose that will bring joy and elegance to your outdoor space for many years to come.
